Witness the Fitness π₯
The adventure continues...
I'm pretty in awe of how far and just how quick I have come in this journey from obesity, super unhealthy habits, smoking and drinking like a fish and no sport in 20 years to wannabe triathlete... all in well under a year π€―
Anything really is possible when we apply ourselves to it kiddoz π
I used to be zone 5 just sitting on my sofa a year ago π
Now my running zone 2 threshold is around 5:00 and can bike in zone 1 at 30km/h (on these wonderful lowland flats ofc haha) πͺπΌ
Swimming is super technical and it's getting there but am 1:50m/100 π¬
15h's per week of sport now ππ»ββοΈππΌββοΈπ΄πΌββοΈππ»ββοΈ
And I have picked myself up a triathlon coach π€
Alongside my 2 swim coaches and physiotherapist (whole team now haha!)
For the Road to IRONMAN 70.3 Cascais in October back in my motherland π΅πΉ
Am all in BABY π°
Gotta put in the work to see the results βΌοΈ
On Saturday, I will compete in my second official olympic distance triathlon, part of the Dutch Triathlon Series in Oudekerk π³π±
PUMPED ππΌ
I fancy a beer every now and again but have learned how to just have 1 or 2 π»
I love beer and guess somethings won't change π
The weekend after DTS I will participate in the Amsterdam City Swim π¦
2.1km along our beautiful Amsterdam canals from Keizersgracht, along the Amstel towards the Magere Brug, then on to the Marineterrein ππΌ
Raising money for a great cause, ALS ππΌ
If you'd like to contribute and leave whatever you can donate here: https://www.amsterdamcityswim.nl/fundraisers/tariq-valente
I really hope that I can inspire some people, as so many people inspired me on this journey π₯
ROCK ON π€ππ€
